I am honored to have an image of one of my 2007 grooms, Brian Blain, appear on the cover of Professional Photographer Magazine for the July 08 issue. I also had another image of Jeff, a very hipster groom, I photographed appear in the article on photographing males. Here are the two items:

Anjali and Nitin

Wow, I have been waiting a long time to photograph this one. Anjali has been so busy studying for the BAR exam, and Nitin has been busy with medical school. Thank you both so much for taking time out of your jam packed schedules to come spend a couple hours with me. These shots are the first I am posting taken with my new D3 and 70-200 f2.8 VR lense. I worked with a remote SB900 for a couple of the shots. What can I say except I love these guys... The last shot includes her beautiful sister being a little sister... It is an understatement that I look forward to your wedding in October. Here are some favorites of mine:

It was the West Indies meets Jamaica yesterday. The weather was perfect and there were big cumulous clouds to boot. In the words of Peter Tosh, it was tough not to catch "Reggae-Mylitis" yesterday. I had a fantastic engagement session with these guys about a month ago, and it was fun to see them again. Everyone pitched in to decorate the newly renovated Church Point Manor. Enjoy Jamaica and bring me back some Red Snapper, beans, and rice. Here are some faves. Ok, here are a lot of faves:

Hava and Jon

I was looking forward to this wedding, because I knew it would be an all out party. My wife is part Lebanese, and I know how weddings in her culture can be fantastic affairs. Hava and Jon's wedding was no different. It was so much fun to be immersed in such a traditionally rich event. The small things that took place throughout the day were awesome. The guitar shots were of his brother laying down the extended jam. I thought of my jewish grandmother often yesterday and wished that she was still living. I remember celebrating many jewish holidays with her when I was a child. It all came back yesterday with vivid memories. Thank you guys for that. Here are a few. I love the last one:

It was fun to spend the day with Cathy, Dan, and his many relatives from jolly old England. Father Mario at St. Gregory's Catholic conducted the lovely ceremony. It is always nice to work in a church where I photograph the little ones for First Communion. The flower girls were adorable, and it was precious to watch the little one groove and bounce on the dance floor. It was also fun to enlist the help of the grey poupon dealing limo driver. I spent a fantastic week with my family, parents, brother, and his family. I took a couple shots while hanging out. The cute little guy is my brother's son. My daughter had a good time with her cousin as well. It was great seeing everyone. The last shot is my brother and his daughter.

I am not sure why I am so drawn to the Botanical Gardens, but I really enjoy walking the grounds. It brings a sense of peace to me, and I could take many images of a couple throughout the venue. I have to time my shots with the setting of the sun, so my creativity is limited by Mother Nature. It was great to spend some time with these guys, and Nick just purchased a new Nikon camera with a few lenses. It was fun talking to him about my wonderful job. Amanda's dress was a perfect choice for our time together. Here are some I enjoyed editing:

I think when the weather is perfect, the Hermitage is one of the most beautiful spots in Hampton Roads. The day was perfect, and these guys were just a fun couple to work with from start to finish. I photographed the wedding of their good friend, Ashley, and she and Michelle helped with the logistics of the day. I enjoyed our engagement session a few weeks ago, and Amy has some of the most amazing eyes I have seen. Ok, you do too Jimmy, ha ha. This marks the last wedding before I go on vacation with my family, brother's family and parents. It was a fantastic way to close the next couple weeks. Here are some:

Caitlin and Mitch

The sun was shining, steel drums playing, beautiful people.. How could I have anything less than a wonderful wedding. I enjoyed getting to know Mitch and Caitlin. I remember his mother speaking to me about a year ago and conveying Mitch's enthusiasm for reggae and Matisyahu. I knew I would love the guy... The beautiful voice of the Rabbi made everyone feel at home during the ceremony. The decoration and flowers were really something to behold. The tables were pinspot lit, and I was told the lighting guys worked from 12:30 am on Friday until 5:00 am Saturday at the Yacht Club to get things ready for the couple's vision. Pearl and Jessica also helped truly transform my favorite place to photograph. I really had a great time guys, and I hope you enjoy Mexico. Here are some faves:

The Sweetwater Senior

Jodi, friend and owner of Sweetwater Cuisine, asked that I photograph her very handsome son who is a senior. It was officially my first senior session. I really don't pursue or market to seniors, portrait clients, etc. I love weddings. I have cool plans for the future, but they will remain just a long term goal for my professional development. Wow, it sounded like I was writing a line from my corporate self appraisal days. Exceeds Expectations, Meets Expectations, etc.. I don't miss those days in the least.. I digress. Jodi wanted some nice shots for her family and Grandparents. I always enjoy my time with Jodi. Here are a couple of my faves.

I first just want to thank these guys for making a six hour drive to be with me for an hour and a half. American Cancer Society

I had the honor of photographing some special women that have something in common. They are all breast cancer survivors and will be featured in a campaign promoting breast cancer awareness. The images will appear in ads as well as a large billboard. The graphic elements were put together by a graphic design company in Richmond, Virginia. I appreciate the opportunity to play a part in such a wonderful cause. As it turns out, one of the young ladies has a child that is in my daughter's Pre-K class, and come to find out, they are good friends. It is a very small world. It has been a pleasure getting to know you more Jill. Here are a few of the finished images:

These guys had their own fireworks going Saturday through the late evening. Isha Foss and company provided the families were her wedding coordination talents. Nice job.. Both families had many out of town guests for the wedding, and the Cavalier Beach Club served as a perfect backdrop. I had a fun time despite the three inch split in my pants which happened right before the reception started when I was bending down to get a lense. Wow, I am glad that Isha had some safety pins. I had a great time with the beach shots, and I hope the two of you have a great honeymoon. The images:
